Hi,
I am Aman, and this safe space is where I am most raw with my thoughts, hop on if you'd like to interact with them :))
In our day to day lives we interact with a truck lo of tools and if there is one thing that the internet normalised very well, it is the transference of activities from the physical world to the digital world.
As an engineer there are certain set of finite tools which I interact with on a daily basis, and this year I decided to dive a little bit deeper into them.
I was partly inspired by one of my friends Ayush, who configures every tool that he uses, and that made me think,
Hmmmm, maybe there are actually some things that I can also improve in my workflow.
Over time I have realised this one thing in life it is that,
you have to choose as to how you allocate your curiosity, if given super human abilities I'd probably ask for the ability to slow down time so as to attend to all my curiosities but I have realised that life is a bit unfair,
You cannot have super powers, someday soon, but not today.
There is only so many things that you can attend to, and this year I am making an active effort to allocate a very small percentage of it to tools.
It's just fun optimising things according to my taste and if it ends up improving my flow by even 1 bit it's a bonus for me.
I have been a default settings user for a long time and it just feels like accepting things just the way they are and I think it's fair to say that I have outgrown that thinking, now I make an active effort to give my personal taste to every tool I use it's just more fun.
These are some of the settings I have played around with lately that actually aid me a lot in my day to day life:
