June-July-August-September: Summed Up

If you are new here or reading it first time,
I am Aman and this safe space is my own metaverse, do check out all the adventures, hope you enjoy your ride :)
The last time, I wrote one of these updates was back in may, life has been fast paced since then, in retrospect not much has changed these past 4 months, but still enough has changed.
Here's my previous one,
Let' start zooming out, I will try to keep this one short and unstructured.
Personal wins
- I have taken my first tech job(more on that later)
- Have completed all my ongoing projects
- Have built a semi-consistent writing habit
- Have made some awesome new friends, whom I can count on.
Previous Goals
That's it folks, I guess going forward, these targets makes more sense,
complete my current set of ongoing projects
organize and update my portfolio
complete pending courses
Execute more experiments => have more fun
These were some of my future targets back then,
Looking back at this list now I certainly feel some sense of content and satisfaction.
Progress
These past 4 months have taught me a lot and if there is one thing that I have learned it is that,
progress is not a linear mapping of the decisions we make today and the outcomes we end up with tomorrow, luck and asymmetry has a lot to do about it.
Whenever I think about progress in life I always remind myself to be grateful of where I am today, progress is very important and so is slowing down and looking back.
Thinking in terms of a single dimension, I can certainly say that I got what I wanted,
- Job at a startup, where I am in alignment with the mission statement
- Having accountability and agency to experiment things
- working with people whom I can call as my friends not just any professional transaction
It feels good to look back, but there are some thing where I'd like to push myself harder.
Things on which I would like to progress, moving forward
Learning new skills, apart from core front end blanket
I haven't been experimenting much like I used to, this is something which I definitely want to improve, also includes being more active on YouTube
I have stopped building hobby projects, I absolutely absolutely love my job and the mission statement I am working towards, but choosing from different curiosities is very difficult, going forward I would like to build more hobby projects
Meeting and conversing with new people(at least one new person each month)
Eating Healthy and Exercising regularly
Lastly, I want to be very consistent with these periodic look backs, these projections really help the present me communicate with the past me and future me.
That's it folks, I don't have much to stay, whenever I think about moving forward I think about projects, it just makes more sense to me personally
