April && May: Summed Up

zoom out2 min read

The big and pleasant surprise that I had almost forgotten all through the pandemic was how every conversation is so interesting in a meet-up when the audience is so well curated. - Rahul Chhabra

April and May was all about offline meetups, met a lot of interesting people but hardly any nuanced discussions.

Hi,

If you are new here or reading it first time,

I am Aman and this safe space is my own metaverse, do check out all the adventures, hope you enjoy your ride :))

Buildspace event was a blast met a lot of interesting folks, had the chance to talk to Varun Mayya, coordinated with an amazing team with super talented folks, even 12 year old's were invited to the party ;)

I don't think I am an events guy, I hardly organize events and my skin in the game in this particular field is close to negligible, learned a lot of new things, things which I never thought I would have, if not for the buildspace event.

Even with countless blunders, we managed to firefight our way through the event, It was super fun and the people I was working with were absolute gem of people, enjoyed working with each one of them.

Don't believe me?

You can vibe check yourself :))

Buildspace was just the starting, a wave of web 3 events onboarded the hype train after than, I myself being a passenger in a few, It was a good change post pandemic but I think I have had enough of these meetups, now back to my cave nerding about stranger things season 4.

Projects

Last two months were slow, couldn't focus much, was mostly distracted, Bangalore weather had it's significant contribution to this but I guess it was mostly because of too much traveling and FOMOing over meeting twitter folks.

Completed Video Lib project for Neogcamp and almost done with my quiz application, apart from these I hardly think, I worked on any other project.

Asymmetry

Joined awesome folks Hallparty as an intern, had to learn a lot of new technologies,

  • tailwind.css
  • Next.js Framework
  • Typescript
  • graphql basics
  • gatsby basics

I was way out of my comfort zone but I guess I managed, was not exactly my 100% but again learned a lot of things that I didn't know.

That's a win, I guess :||

I have realized that some months will be slow and some very productive, It will only make sense when I zoom out enough.

Progress

In terms of progress I guess, I am somewhat operating at a slower pace right now, need to fasten my pace a little bit, technical skills are progressing at a steady rate, learning a lot of new technologies I think I need to work more on fundamentals, overall I feel I am at a good enough position, can be at a better positioning.

Need to fuel my curiosity more ;)

That's it folks, I guess going forward, these targets makes more sense,

  • complete my current set of ongoing projects
  • organize and update my portfolio
  • complete pending courses
  • Execute more experiments => have more fun

That's it fam,

bye
